February Fit Finds: Re-Branding “Date night”

Feb.RU.ary….the month of love! While most people are trying to figure out some romantic gestures for their loved one, we are challenging you to think outside of the box for the infamous date night.  When most people think of date night, the first thing that comes to mind is “what restaurant do you want to go to? Now we aren’t saying that you should never go out to dinner again, but there are many other activities you can do with a loved one that doesn’t involve eating out and potentially sabotaging your goals. Check out these seven winter “fitdates” that will be fun and help you burn some calories!

Ice Skating: There is something so romantic about an outdoor skating rink (we’ll blame it on the Romcoms).  Most places allow you to skate for almost 2 hours so that you can make some #instamemories and also burn some calories! If you live near Boston, check out FROG POND

Rock Climbing: A total upper body burn, rock climbing is a fun date for couples. It’s challenging physically and also a great mental workout as well. Have complete trust in your partner and help yourself gain some extra confidence. Check out CHALLENGE ROCKS in Hingham!

Bowling: Bowling is a fun, inexpensive date that is also a great group date experience. Bowling usually has music and is perfect for those with a healthy competitive spirit. Check out KINGS in Dedham.

Trampoline Park: Bring out your inner child at a trampoline park!  You can play dodgeball, sky slam (think basketball), or just freestyle jump! Check out SKYZONE in Kingston.

Cooking Classes:   Who said cooking wasn’t a sport? Get some healthy eats inspiration with a variety of cooking classes. We love  THE GOOD LIFE KITCHEN in Norwell. They have theme nights like “meatless Monday”, winter soups, sushi, ect.

Fitness Class and Spa Experience: Enjoy a fitness class together and then relax with a spa treatment or soak in the outdoor hot tub. MIRBEAU in Plymouth is a great place to refuel, relax and reconnect.

Explore with a Hike: Even though it’s winter, hiking is still a fun activity for a date, and it’s free!! Take a little bit of a drive and explore FRANCONIA NOTCH in NH, THE WHITE MOUNTAINS in NH,  KILLINGTON in VT and LAKE CHAMPLAIN in VT or keep it local at Blue Hills in Milton or Worlds End in Hingham.
